No one who ever met Ken will ever forget him. Ken was an iconoclast, a truly original soul who lived life the way he thought it should be lived. He had a fantastic memory for people and places and could regale a listener for hours on any subject under the sun. He loved books and dogs and had many of both. Ken carried a ringbound stack of index cards that was his repertoire. Every song was a gem and every song was done in his own style. Just like Ken, his music was honest, funny and without frills. Thanks to a banjo-playing friend of Ken’s who recorded these songs in the 2000s, you can now listen to music from Ken’s weekly house gig at the Hi-Fi Cafe in Milwaukee. Enjoy and please share with anyone you think would appreciate some great old-time singing and clawhammer banjo playing.
